The Garbage Hut (Wasting of Time) operates as a mildly functional pit stop café bridging the gap between BMX bikers and pedestrians in the D’Hillier Forest in Whitby.  The actual intention of the building takes place over a significantly longer time frame and involves the slow wasting away of the materials which constitute the structure.  The design of the building focuses on the use of temporary materials which can undergo a process of self-disassembly and decomposition over its lifespan.  The end product is a much richer area of land which can then propagate and promote life while also not valuing the present function of the materials and structure over the future health and wellbeing of the site.
