Project Date

As a result of clear-cut logging practices at the start of the 20th century, a significant forest fire wiped out all remaining vegetation on site at Pacific Spirit Regional Park in Vancouver, BC. This project addresses the life cycle of the forest, exhibiting the site’s developmental process through 4 distinct spaces, with a central focus on the regenerative aspect of fire. Through a linear progression from the threshold that frames the death of the forest, to the treewalk that enchants the visitors in its present state, one is left to admire, acknowledge, and understand the story of Pacific Spirit Regional Park.
