Groovi is a modular system for the construction of low-storey family houses. It consists of repeating modules of a cubic glulam frame which provides support for all the other components. The main aspect of these modules is that people make, design and improve them themselves. Because not everyone is confident and knowledgeable enough to build a family house, this process takes place in a controlled, friendly workshop environment where everyone is provided with instructions, equipment and morale for easy manipulation of components and frames. 90% of the construction takes place directly in the workshop. When the modules are complete, they are transported to the designated plot. Groovi represents a flexible, creative and individual approach to creating your own home. Due to the predictable repetition of the modular elements and because most parts are made to allow for ease of assembly, construction can be completed in a matter of weeks, depending on how often the builder wants to build.
