Racial Equity and Environmental Justice Task Force - UPDATE

Announcement

Dear Members of the School Community,
This is an update on the work of the Racial Equity and Environmental Justice Task Force.

Three students, elected by WASA and SWAG, are joining the Task Force: undergraduate students Simone Delaney and Salman Rauf, and graduate student Victoria Mantha-Blythe. They will be joining the Task Force for our weekly meeting on Friday.;

Last week the Task Force met with adjunct faculty, the transcript from this meeting has been returned to adjunct faculty for approval.

A transcript from the Advisory Board meeting on June 25, 2020, and the biographies of all Advisory Board members are now available on the Waterloo Architecture Connect website
We are integrating feedback from the Advisory Board and adjunct faculty into the Proposal for Commitments to Change. We will be sharing this with the school community shortly and scheduling meetings with students and student groups for feedback.

In parallel, we will be forming sub-committees to study specific areas of commitment in detail to articulate and recommend clear processes and actions to implement change. Invitations for these are open to all full-time and adjunct faculty and staff, with the expectation that all full-time faculty members will be involved in at least one.
