The end of term can be stressful, especially during these crazy times. Studio projects, exams, and deadlines all start adding up and can really burn us out. MAP would like to offer a small reprieve: come join our Wellness Seminar on Friday April 23rd! We’ll be discussing questions like: How do I take care of myself? How do I ask for help? How do I help a friend who might be struggling? What resources are available to us? Are other arch students struggling or is it just me?
MAP has invited a counselor to discuss common mental health concerns and creating a positive environment. This will be followed by a video compilation from the UWSA faculty and staff, sharing their own self-care tips. To wrap-up the event, fellow student, Isabella Suppa, and MAP mentor, Meghan Won, will share their personal experiences with studio related stress and self care at the School of Architecture. All of us are part of this academic community and we hope this event will prompt continued discussions and reduce the stigma on mental health.
This is a safe space for all students within the School of Architecture. The counselor’s presentation will be recorded so others may view it at their own pace. However, the following conversation and story sharing will not be recorded to maintain student privacy. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
